Two days of fun-filled SUGCON have finally come to an end. But what remains in all of us who took part in this event are the noteworthy presentations, ideas, and experiences from the community.

The sessions mainly focused on the integration of latest Sitecore features and Microsofts’ cutting edge technologies, such as mixed reality, machine learning, IoT, and Azure.

Here are our favorite sessions.

Sitecore xDB in-depth: Harnessing Contacts, Sessions & Clusters by Dmytro Shevchenko

The session provided a deeper insight on the internals of xDB, in which Dmytro presented approaches in handling common contact management scenarios.

Tooling for Helix – with Docker Focus by Thomas Stern & Emil Klein

Emil demonstrated using Yeoman to speed up the development setup of a Helix-based solution, and Thomas showed how to utilize Docker containers for a Sitecore test server setup.

Sitecore & Javascript – Finally in Love Alex Shyba & Adam Weber

Alex & Adam introduced a groundbreaking approach to bridge the gap between Javascript & Sitecore development. Their JSS approach allows generating Sitecore content from ReactJS applications.

One of the heavily anticipated presentations,”Five Things you’ll love about xConnect” by Todd Mitchel, had to be canceled due to some unforeseen circumstances.

All in all, the event was a great opportunity to meet up with the community and keep track of recent developments.
